Here are some of the top stories for December 31, 2013:

  • Inter have the highest average home attendance through the 2013/14 season. The Nerazzurri have drawn an average of 52,038 and with a 10.5% increase compared to the 2012/13 season. Despite the overall decrease of supporters going to the stadium throughout Serie A, Inter have defied the trend with the numbers going to the Meazza. Read the story by Osservatorio Calcio Italiano over at the Inter site, which takes a snapshot of Serie A crowds through the season.

  • Congratulations to our striker extraordinaire, Rodrigo Palacio! El Trenza is Serie A's most prolific striker in 2013, hitting the back of the net 24 times. Palacio scored more in this calendar year than Mario Balotelli and Antonio di Natale, who scored 21 and 19, respectively. Here's to hoping Rodrigol keeps his fine form through 2014 and beyond!

  • Javier Zanetti has been back in Argentina over the winter break, partaking in exhibitions benefiting his PUPI Foundation. Il Principe Diego Milito and Walter Samuel both played limited minutes over the weekend and hopefully Inter will have them back on the pitch representing the black and blue sooner than later!

  • Finally, training at Appiano Gentile resumes TODAY! European based players will report to La Pinetina while our South American contingent has a couple days more to enjoy before coming back at the end of the week. Our next match is scheduled for next Monday, January 6, 2014 against Lazio at 18.30 CET.
