This Week In Twinter: Samp Spoils San Siro Party

Former Inter player Sinisa Mihajlovic ruined Sunday's festivities when his side scored a late equaliser...

Everything was going according to plan for the first 45 minutes. Inter opened the scoring in the early going and it looked like the rout was on as new owner Erick Thohir took in his first game at San Siro.

The Indonesian businessman invited a plethora of club luminaries to the game and they showed up in full force, creating a carnival-like atmosphere. Thohir took a seat next to Massimo Moratti and the two proceeded to yuk it up like long-lost friends during the first half.

Everything was perfect until it wasn't.

Former Inter defender Sinisa Mihajlovic must not have received the memo as Samp dominated proceedings in the final 45 minutes and scored a late equalizer to deflate the Nerazzurri faithful.

It was a cruel blow but a deserved one for Inter as it lacked any sort of invention in the second half. The disturbing trend of dropping points to inferior competition continued as third spot disappears further and further into the horizon.

The much-maligned Fredy Guarin opened the scoring, which elicited a few positive tweets… sort of.

brilliant from ricky, guarin knew exactly how to put the ball in the net for once. beautiful stuff. 1-0.
— GRUNGE RAP. Inter was lethargic for the majority of the second half and paid the price when Renan came off the bench to score the equalizer in the 89th minute. The goal took the air out of the Meazza and this tweet summed everything up quite nicely:

Zero Ideas. Zero creativity. Zero desire. Zero direction. Should also be zero points.
— Varun Mathure (@Varun_Mathure) December 1, 2013

The draw somehow managed to piss off non-Interisti as well:

Grazie Inter!! Per quanto sei inutile ho perso 300 euro!! -.-'
— Vito (@vitogiannini90) December 1, 2013

You don't have to understand Italian to know what that poor punter is talking about.

And as the reality of another two dropped points sets in it's Guarin who feels the wrath of Interisti:

Even God couldn’t turn Fredy Guarin into a trequartista so I’m fairly certain Walter Mazzarri can’t either #Inter
— Ben Boucher (@SportsNut1908) December 2, 2013

And as we go a Juve supporter spells out the harsh reality in simple terms that even Milan fans can understand.

A Milano fa davvero Freddo...
-10 dall'Inter
-20 dal Milan
— PAUL POGBA!♥ (@VitalbaArdito) December 1, 2013
