On Saturday 27 July at 15:30 Inter will face Hamburg in an international friendly at the Imtech Arena.

The match will be broadcast live by Sky Sport Italia (on Sky SuperCalcio 205), while Inter Channel subscribers will be able to see a replay of the game later.

HSV, the name by which the team is known in Germany, is the oldest club in the country, founded in 1887, although football activities began a few years later in 1891.

Their stadium, the Imtech Arena, was completely renovated in 2000 ahead of the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

The full name of the German side is Hamburger Sport-Verein and their colours are blue, black and white. They have also taken part in every season of the Bundesliga since its foundation in 1963, allowing them to boast a record in top-flight football that is similar to that of the Nerazzurri.

Furthermore, Hamburg are one of the most successful teams in German history with 6 national championships, 3 German Cups, a German League Cup, a Cup Winners’ Cup and a European Cup (1982/83).
There have been two previous meetings between Inter and Hamburg, both dating back to the 1984/85 UEFA Cup: the Nerazzurri lost in Germany 2-1 but won the second leg 1-0 on 12 December 1984 in Milan (with the goal coming from Brady), thus advancing to the quarter-finals of the competition.
