Awards season is upon us and while Hollywood is busy celebrating its crème de la crème, this also means it is time for Serie A's best to congregate and honor the top in the peninsula. (Don't worry, we won't be cutting anyone off like the Grammys did to Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age... but that's another story.)
Despite Inter's less than stellar form over the previous calendar year, a Nerazzurri player was still able to take home an award during last night's Gran Gala "Oscar" del Calcio held by the Associazione Italiana Calciatori (AIC).
Congratulations goes out to our very own Samir Handanovic for being named Serie A's best goalkeeper in 2013! The Slovenian won the honor by beating fellow portieri, Gianluigi Buffon and Federico Marchetti.
