Inter Injury Updates

An update from the injury room at Appiano Gentile...

Marco Luzzani

Now that the international break has come to a close, it is time to get our minds back to the season and assess the injuries that some of our players have sustained over the last couple of weeks.

We already covered what happened to Dani Osvaldo and Gary Medel (Medel is okay and ended up playing 90 minutes with Chile the other night) with their respective national teams, and unfortunately there were two more injuries suffered by our players.

Mateo Kovacic suffered a slight groin strain while on duty for Croatia and was forced to come off early in the first half during their match against Azerbaijan.  Early reports had him missing in action for this weekend's clash against Napoli and unless he fully recuperates, he is doubtful for Sunday.

Danilo D'Ambrosio was not involved in any international matches, but he suffered medial collateral ligament (MCL) damage in his right knee during a training match at Appiano Gentile.  Reports say that he will potentially miss up to six weeks of action and more tests will be done to evaluate the injury.
