Mazzarri Pleads With Inter Fans To Keep Supporting The Team

Under-fire Inter manager Walter Mazzarri has asked the Nerazzurri faithful to keep cheering for the squad despite their recent dip in form.

Inter is winless in its last three games, losing to Atalanta before stumbling to draws against Udinese and Livorno, prompting calls in some circles for Mazzarri to step down.

However, the Italian tactician remains defiant and believes that hard work and discipline will lift the squad out of their slump ahead of Saturday's clash versus Bologna.

"We need to keep on working on the mistakes we have made, on improving and being together," Mazzarri said, according to the club's official website. "I'd ask the fans to keep doing what they have always done and support Inter all together.

"Is this the toughest spell of my career? I have gone through worse, because I know how to take some distance from it."

Interisti have been frustrated with the lack of playing time for some of the squad's younger talents like Mateo Kovacic and Saphir Taider, but Mazzarri refused to guarantee a starting spot for the Croatian teenager on Saturday.

"Kovacic from the start? He's one of the doubts I have," Mazzarri stated. "If he doesn't play someone else will, no one's happy when they are not playing."

The rumblings that Mazzarri is not the right man for the job will only get louder if Inter continue to falter down the stretch and he needs nothing less than three points against Bologna to silence his ever growing number of critics.
