Inter Players take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

The worldwide viral movement of dumping a bucket of ice water of your head in support for charity has spread to Appiano Gentile. The "Ice Bucket Challenge" was an idea by the ALS Association to raise funds for research and spread awareness for the disease.

ALS, or also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, stands for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and is a "progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord."  You can find out more about ALS at the official ALSA website, as well as learn more about the Ice Bucket Challenge.

The challenge involves the participant to either pour ice cold water over themselves or donate $100 to the charity.  While the viral videos have helped spread awareness to the disease, many who have participated have also donated in conjunction with taking the challenge.

Samir Handanovič was the first to accept the challenge, without video.

Soon thereafter, players were dumping ice water on themselves and nominating others.  Enjoy everyone dousing themselves, and (especially my favorite part) all their shrieks right after!
