According to English dailies, Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva may be on his way to Inter. The Brazilian international has been often linked to the Nerazzurri since December, and the side may eventually make a €7 million move for his services. BBC’s Carlo Laudisa expressed that the 28-year-old's move to San Siro may be just days away.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Leiva has already spoken with coach Roberto Mancini and would like to move to the Serie A club. New contacts between the two clubs are likely to take place today, with La Gazzetta confirming that a definitive answer by Liverpool seems plausible.
Mancini is keen to sign a defensive midfielder and has identified Lucas Leiva as a preferred target. If he makes the move from Anfield, Leiva will be expected to help shore up a leaky defense in the midfield which is prone to allowing goals too easily at times.
Leiva has become a regular starter at Anfield and has made 18 appearances for the Reds this season. How would you guys feel about a Leiva signing? Do you think he's worth the money, or are you pleased with our current midfield talent?
