Handanovic, Icardi drawing interest from Premier League sides

Handanovic and Icardi have drawn interest from some of England's biggest clubs, but neither are very likely to leave Inter any time soon.

Bleacher Report reported yesterday that the claims surrounding Samir Handanovic's January move to Manchester United are relatively weak. The outlet stated that the Inter keeper is set to renew his contract with the Nerazzurri on a new £7.2 million deal. A few details have been leaked, and a four-year deal worth £1.8 million per season is the most popular figure that has been floating around.

While Handanovic's agent did confirm that Manchester United were interested in the player (and that he was indeed the backup plan to the failed de Gea deal), he reiterated that Handa is happy at Inter and is preparing to extend his time in Milan.

The next order of business is to discuss the rumors surrounding Inter striker Mauro Icardi. Maurito has recently been linked with English sides Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, mostly due to the fact that he was left out of the starting squad against AS Roma this past weekend. (h/t HITC)

If it seems a little silly to engage in this type of speculation regarding Icardi after he was merely left out of one league match, that's because it is. I don't even know that Icardi would work well in any of the attacks mentioned above. Perhaps if Spurs lost Harry Kane, Maurito could fill that void. But considering that the two are very different players, I wouldn't put too much stock in any of these rumors at the moment.
