Are Inter Milan interested in Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic? Maybe, according to information reported by Football Italia.
The Serbian international is in the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge and will be able to hold contract talks with interested teams in January.
Reports from The London Evening Standard claim that Ivanovic is frustrated that he has only been offered a one-year extension with Chelsea and thus has been rumored to be willing to negotiate with other clubs in search of a better deal. If true, this would open the door for Inter to begin seeking the 31-year-old's signature.
The English outlet also believes that Inter would be willing to offer a longer deal to Ivanovic, as the club would save money by not having to pay a transfer fee.
Ivanovic plays central defense at Stamford Bridge, but is a natural right back. The same sources that have kicked up the dust around this rumor have also stated that they believe Ivanovic could be considered as a replacement for the yet-to-be-used Martin Montoya, who arrived at the San Siro over the summer.
