Injury Update: The latest on Shaqiri and Dodo

Both Shaqiri and Dodo were injured in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Cesena. Shaqiri should only miss a week with a minor injury, but Dodo's injury appears to be much more serious.

Xherdan Shaqiri will be out for a week after medical exams this morning revealed an elongated hamstring in his left thigh, an injury the Swiss international picked up in Inter's 1-1 draw with Cesena this past Sunday.

He is slated to miss Inter's upcoming ties against both Wolfsburg in the Europa League and Sampdoria in Serie A. This means that Kovacic and Hernanes will be competing to win the starting trequartista spot in Thursday's crucial EL clash with the German side. (h/t Sempre Inter)

Dodo also picked up an injury in Sunday's match, but unfortunately his is a bit more serious. The Brazilian international has undergone tests which have confirmed that he has sustained a lesion to the meniscus ligament in his knee. Inter will decide whether Dodo will undergo surgery in the coming days, but it is likely that the player's season is finished.

We at The Offside wish both of the players a speedy recovery, and we hope that if Dodo does indeed have to go under the knife that he will be able to return to full form over the summer.
