Football Italia reported yesterday (via Sky Italia) that Arsenal are making a late move to snag an interesting Inter target - Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia. According to the report, the Gunners appear to have actually moved ahead of the Milanese clubs in the race to win the signature of the 22-year-old player.

This comes after reports over the weekend that the two Milan-based clubs were in a heated bidding war over the young French international. Several Italian outlets claimed that AC Milan initially offered €25 million and that Inter countered by raising their own offer to €27 million.

If, in fact, Kondogbia is understandably enticed to ply his trade in the Prem next season, then the Milanese sides would likely both turn their attention to another young French midfielder, Olympique Marseille's Giannelli Imbula.

Imbula has also drawn interest from Spanish side Valencia, and both he and his agent are mostly silent regarding where he'll end up next season.
