Inter closing in on Zukanovic

Cheivo Verona and Inter have reportedly struck a deal to send the left back to Inter.

Inter has been moving very quickly with Mancini's transfer targets and it looks like he will soon be able to check another box on his list of necessary additions, this one at the fullback position. According to SempreInter and Gazzetta dello Sport, an agreement has been reached between Inter and Chievo for the transfer of Ervin Zukanovic. The left back (who can also play center back) just completed his first season in Serie A after arriving from Belgian side KAA Gent and he adapted fairly quickly to the new league, impressing a number of people in the process.

The reported fee to send Zukanovic to Inter is believed to be a swap to send Schelotto to Chievo (yes he still is officially an Inter player) while also paying Chievo €1m. That is not a bad deal at all. Mancini gets rid of a player that he does not have plans for and for just €1m picks up somebody to fill in a position that needs some strengthening.

There have been some suggestions that after Andreolli rejected a move to Sampdoria, Samp responded by making a late bid for Zukanovic potentially worth more money than Inter's offer, but as of now it sounds like the 28 year old would rather play in Milan than in Genoa.
