Official: Icardi signs extension with Inter, snubs Chelsea, Manchester United

Nerazzurri fans rejoice! Despite the many, many rumors surrounding Inter's darling boy Mauro Icardi, the Argentinian striker has finally signed a contract extension with his club through June 2019. This news has come from multiple sources, including ESPN FC.

The newly-minted Capocannoniere co-winner shared his excitement yesterday, saying:

I never thought I would do so well -- I'm delighted. I always train to get better and better, then it is credit to the team for putting me in the positions to score goals and to get me to this important milestone.

Despite Inter's 8th-place finish in Serie A this season, Icardi added this bit of encouragement to both his teammate and the loyal Inter fans when he said this:

All players want to be in the Champions League, but I'm happy here at Inter. I hope I can qualify for that competition next year with a great Nerazzurri side.
