Inter Milan's pursuit of Wolfsburg winger Ivan Perisic may be all but over after reports surfaced earlier this week that Nerazzurro Xherdan Shaqiri has completely rejected a move to fellow Bundesliga side Schalke 04.
You may be asking, "now what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?" Well, a lot, actually. Shaqiri's rejection of Schalke's €14 million offer creates a pretty significant butterfly effect. Because Shaq won't go to Shalke, the Bundesliga side can't let German international Julian Draxler leave for Juventus because they would be left without an adequate replacement.
So the revolving door of wingers between the Italian and German sides continues. Multiple reports have given several reasons for Shaqiri's unwillingness to make the jump to Germany. Some outlets say that his wage requests aren't being met, while others believe that he simply wishes to remain in Milan and try to prove himself before the January transfer window opens.
