Inter's preseason is heading towards the end, but there are still a few matches that will be played by our beloved club before things start to get serious. These last fixtures could redeem a not-so-brilliant summer of football for Inter, wich, on the other side, finally shined in the calciomercato, pulling off quite a few quality signings without spending too much money in the process.
Here is all you need to know about Inter's next three challenges.
Inter vs. Athletic Bilbao
Match Date/Time: Saturday, August 8; 3:00 p.m. ET / 9:00 p.m. CEST (Europe)
Venue: Stadio Tardini; Parma, Italy
TV: PremiumSport HD (Italy); beIN Sports Connect (U.S.); La Liga TV (International)
This will be a good test against a strong team. The Basques can rely on a talented young core - 26.4 average age - and on an almost completed preparation for the 2015/16 season. They defeated Baku 2-0 in the first leg of their Europa League third qualifying round tie on July 30.
Inter vs. Sassuolo/Milan - Trofeo Tim
Match Date/Time: Wednesday, August 12; 2:45 p.m. ET / 8:45 p.m. CEST (Europe)
Venue: Mapei Stadium; Reggio Emilia, Italy
TV: Canale 5 (Italy)
This will be the 15th edition of this trophy, wich usually saw Inter, Milan and Juve facing each other, but in the last two editions the Nerazzurri didn't take part to it and despite that, they are still the most successful side of this meaningless competition with 8 victories.
The rules are simple: there will be three 45-minute matches with every team facing each other, but without the possibility of ties and if the score is even at the end of regulation, penalties will decide which team wins the match; the side that wins with penalties will be awarded with just 2 points and the losing one only with one. The team with most points at the end of the night will be the winner of the trophy.
Inter vs. AEK Athens
Match Date/Time: Sunday, August 16; 3:00 p.m. ET / 9:00 p.m. CEST (Europe)
Venue: Stadio Del Conero; Ancona, Italy
First time the two sides face each other since August 14, 2004 when Inter absolutely destroyed the Black and Yellows with a strong 5-1 victory in Pisa. It will be our last fixtures before the start of the season and it will also be the occasion to finally see the real face of the 2015/16 Inter.
