Jovetic suffers pulled hamstring, will miss from 1 to 4 weeks

The Montenegrin injured his left hamstring in the pre-game training against Fiorentina.

The first inauspicious sign that the Fiorentina match would be a difficult and painful one was the news that broke just before the start of the game that Stevan Jovetic had suffered an injury and would be pulled from the starting XI. Palacio had the hard task of replacing him and, honestly, he didn't do much to trouble the solid Viola defense.

Jojo had an MRI scan to his leg this morning and it revealed that he has suffered a pulled left hamstring. There is no official timetable for his recovery yet, and he will continue to be evaluated over the next few days to see how serious the injury is.

Depending on the severity of the injury, Jovetic will probably be sidelined from 1 to 4 weeks. Given his history with injuries, I hope the doctors will be very careful before clearing him to play.

The biggest worry when Jovetic was acquired this summer was his proneness to injury. When healthy he is a world class talent, so I hope this is just an isolated case and that he will be able to continue to play a major role in Inter's success early on in the season.

Get well soon Stevan, the Nerazzurri need you!

UPDATE:

Sky Sport reported that Jojo will miss only the next match against Sampdoria. Inter is trying to convince him not to play with his national team to have a better recovery from the injury.
