What could have been a great deal both for the player and the team turned out in the worst way possible. A sequence of bad performances and unlucky events forced the Serbian and former Manchester United defender to terminate his contract with Inter just one year and a half after signing for the club.
Vidic, who turned 34 last October was recovering from a back injury for which he underwent surgery last August. The rock-solid defender was expected to miss at least 4-5 months after the operation, but maybe a delay on his recovery schedule was the reason he decided, in accord with the club, to terminate his contract and to end his story in nerazzurro.
His career at Inter started in a very troubled way. He was shown a red card in his first appereance, the first week of the 14/15 Serie A season against Torino. Then in week 3, he committed an error that lead to a Palermo's goal. Despite that, Nemanja managed to play 23 Serie A matches last season, scoring one goal on January 11, 2015 against Genoa, his first game after a two-month absence from the pitch.
We wish you the best of luck for your future career, Nemanja, wherever you end up playing!
