José Rodolfo Pires Ribeiro, also known as Dodò, underwent his medical for Sampdoria today in Genoa and will join the team on loan. The Brazilian was already on loan at Inter since July 2014, when Roma accepted a deal that would have sent him to the Nerazzurri in exchange of €1.2 million right away and further €7.8 million at the end of the loan this June. The player has already signed the contract with the Blucerchiati, so the deal should be officially announced later today.
At 23 years old, Dodò is still a young and interesting prospect. This move could help him find the space he needs to show his potential, something he couldn't do at Inter, especially this year. The Nerazzurri already have 4 players who could play as fullbacks - plus Juan Jesus - so it has been and would have been almost impossible for him to play regularly. He will have to fight with Zukanovic for a first-string role, but I'm sure that with his offensive skills and his great technique he will earn minutes quickly under Vincenzo Montella's guidance.
Keep on smiling like you always do Dodò and we wish the best for your future at Sampdoria!
