Francesco Bardi joins Frosinone on loan

A lack of playing time at Espanyol has forced the young goalkeeper to return to Italy.

Francesco Bardi's career in Spain has come to a premature end. He joined Espanyol in the summer as another of his many loans since he joined Inter in 2011, but this one was less successful than most. He made no appearances in the league and only saw action in two cup matches. This was unacceptable for him so he along with Inter decided to terminate his loan early so he could join another club, this time heading to 19th placed Frosinone.

The 24 year old goalkeeper has typically played for mid to lower table Serie A sides so this should be a move that suits him. In the past the Italian has spoken of a desire to return to Inter one day but only if he would be the starting goalkeeper. His performances so far (plus Handanovic's incredible form) makes that unlikely to occur anytime in the near future, but more loan opportunities like this will further develop his skills to the point where he hopefully can reach the lofty standards he has set himself. We wish Bardi the best of luck at his new club!
