Match Info
When: Thursday, November 3rd 4:05pm ET/ 9:05pm CET
Where: St. Mary's Stadium, Southampton, England.
This is one of the most important matches of the first half of the season for Inter and it comes in a very weird and chaotic moment for the club. Last place in Group K of the Europa League leaves the Nerazzurri needing to come home with at least a draw from the St. Mary's Stadium and Stefano Vecchi — Inter's interim manager after De Boer's sacking, usually Inter's Primavera team coach — will have the hard task of picking up the pieces of the impossible puzzle Frank left and put them back together to at least have an idea of what this team is and how it should play.
Two weeks ago the Nerazzurri were able to snatch a win with a superb goal by Candreva in a match that should have ended with a much different result in favor of the Saints. Tomorrow's clash will be heavily influenced by what happened at the start of the week and for me there are two completely opposite possible outcomes. Either the team will have a complete meltdown and will be crushed by Southampton, or they will show a positive reaction to the scolding they reportedly received by Ausilio and Zanetti and they will finally find the motivation to play with the sole purpose of winning.
Team News
Stefano Vecchi probably won't make major changes to the formation. We should see the usual 4-3-3 with Gnoukouri who will earn a place in the starting eleven because of Brozovic's suspension. Palacio and Jovetic are injured so they will not be available tomorrow.
Below you can find the players that have been named for the match, even though three of them — Barbosa, Joao Mario and Kondogbia — were not included in the Europa League list.
Goalkeepers: 1 Handanovic, 30 Carrizo, 46 Berni;
Defenders: 2 Andreolli, 13 Ranocchia, 15 Ansaldi, 21 Santon, 24 Murillo, 25 Miranda, 33 D'Ambrosio, 55 Nagatomo;
