Éver Banega signs three year contract with Inter while nobody was looking

Surprise!

The transfer market is still four months away, but that didn't prevent Inter from making their first signing which will became effective this July.

Éver Banega was linked with Inter many times during the January window, but in the end nothing really happened and all that was classified as nothing more than a rumor. Apparently though there was a kernel of truth in those rumours, because the 27-year-old Argentinian, whose contract with Sevilla would have expired at the end of the 15/16 campaign, has reportedly signed a contract tonight that will tie him with the Nerazzurri for the next three years. The most surprising part of this story is the fact that Banega flew to Italy to have a top-secret medical before applying his autograph on the official papers. Di Marzio also reported that Ever's fresh new contract do not include a Champions League qualification clause, so his arrival will happen no matter what Inter's placement will be at the end of the season.

It look like Inter's vice-president and Banega's fellow countryman -- and Nerazzurro legend -- Javier Zanetti played a key role in convincing the Argentinian national to make this unexpected move.

So, welcome to Inter Éver, and may your career with the Nerazzurri be blessed with lots of success!
