International breaks can be entertaining for some. That is, of course, pending on the idea that all their favorite players come home healthy.

Thirteen Inter Milan players have been selected to represent their home countries as an important World Cup is around the corner. Let’s find out who’s been selected.

Mauro Icardi: 6 goals and 0 assists

Icardi will feature in a hopeful World Cup contender in Argentina. They have matches against Peru and Ecuador on the 5th and 10th of October. Jorge Sampaoli will be hoping Icardi can find the scoring touch that he’s had in the league thus far.

Joao Mario: 0 goals and 3 assists

Some have been critical of Mario so far this season, others have been focusing on his improvements. Personally, I like Mario’s creativity in the midfield for the Nerazzurri thus far. Maybe he can help Cristiano Ronaldo find the scoring touch again with the Euro 2016 winning Portugal in this break. Portugal have fixtures against Andorra and Portugal on the 7th and the 10th respectively.

Milan Skriniar: 1 goal with a 7.42 average match rating

How can you not be impressed with Skriniar? The young Slovakian steps up in all areas of the pitch and even provided Inter with a game winning goal. Slovakia will love the service of Skriniar, as they square off against both Scotland and Malta on the 5th and the 8th of October.

Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic: 5 goals and 3 assists combined

I must admit that I don’t follow international football as much as I should. Croatia though have always seemed like the under the radar team to me. The likes of Ivan Rakitic along with the threats of both Perisic and Brozovic provide a solid Croatian attack. They have some favorable fixtures coming up with Finland and Ukraine. Croatia will face Finland on the 6th, and Ukraine on the 9th.

Miranda: 1.1 tackles per game with a 7.06 average match rating

Miranda hasn’t been so hot for Inter to start off the campaign. Some questionable decisions have left fans wondering what to do with the other center back position. Brazil must feel differently, as they’ve called up Miranda to face Bolivia and Chile on the 5th and the 10th. Crucial year for Brazil coming up.

Other Call Ups

Yuto Nagatomo: Nagatomo will feature for Japan as they take on New Zealand and Haiti on the 6th and the 10th.

Matias Vecino: The Uruguay international will get the chance to play alongside Luis Suarez and Edison Cavani as they look for international glory. Uruguay have Venezuela on the 5th, and Bolivia on the 10th.

Andrea Pinamonti (U-19 Italy): Pinamonti will feature for the young Italians as they take on Moldova (10/4), Estonia (10/7), and Sweden (10/10).

Eder, Antonio Candreva, Danilo D’Ambrosio, and Roberto Gagliardini: The four Inter players will suit up for Italy as they continue to look for their old winning ways. Italy will take on FYR Macedonia on the 6th, and Albania on the 9th.

Let’s hope for the best for all the Inter Milan representatives! Do you notice any missing call ups or players that are questionable for an international representation? Let us know in the comments below!
