The Nerazzurri are currently third in the Serie A table, sitting 2 points behind league-leaders Napoli. A big reason for the success of Inter so far would be the likes of striker Mauro Icardi.

The 24-year-old has been in sublime form to start off the new campaign. A team-leading 11 goals in 12 matches is not bad considering his performances against top Italian opposition.

Icardi bagged two goals against Roma towards the beginning of the season in Inter Milan’s 3-1 away win. The form didn’t stop there either.

Who can forget his absolute heroic hat-trick against fierce rivals A.C. Milan? 3 goals to put away the Rossoneri earned Icardi Man of the Match honors, which put him and Inter back on the European spotlight.

The Argentine has been in brilliant form as of late. In his last five matches, Mauro has scored 5 goals and an assist, receiving 2 Man of the Match awards in the process.

According to WhoScored, Icardi is averaging a 7.46 match rating. His performances are second only to his teammate Ivan Perisic.

Of course, stunning play for Inter can only mean that the bigger clubs are going to come in and swoop the player away. Icardi’s play has now tangled him into the latest bundle of transfer rumors.

According to NBC Sports, a plethora of big splash moves that would likely happen next summer will result in Icardi packing his bags for either Bayern Munich, Arsenal, or Chelsea.

It’s being rumored that Real Madrid are really interested in Bayern attacker Robert Lewandowski. If that transfer happens, the void will obviously need to be filled for the German side.

What makes Arsenal and Chelsea interested. The two English clubs signed Alexandre Lacazette and Alvaro Morata to their respective clubs in the recent window, meaning that they’d be looking at Inter’s top scorer for depth.

Even though club’s might be racing for Icardi’s signature, Inter have made it clear that they want the Argentine to stay. His $110 million release clause could be raised if need be.

However, we know what the top clubs in Europe can do with money. Look at Neymar’s move to PSG in the Summer Window. The next several months should be interesting for Icardi and these latest developments.

Any chance that Icardi actually leaves in the next window? Do you think he’ll stay? Let us know in the comments below.
