Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino will be out at least one game and perhaps as many as two after club officials confirmed he suffered a thigh injury Saturday at Cagliari.
“An issue was detected with his biceps femoris muscle,” the club said on its website.
Vecino will be out for this weekend’s clash with Chievo, but it could be possible he returns for Inter Milan’s game with Juventus the next week.
Vecino has played in 1,073 minutes this season since being signed from Fiorentina along with Borja Valero.
His lone goal came in a 3-1 win over AS Roma thanks to a cross from Ivan Perisic.
