According to a Croatian sports outlet, Premier League side Everton has submitted an initial offer for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

Sportske Jutarnji reported Everton offered €18 million for the midfielder, which was promptly rejected.

Brozovic played in 28 games for the Nerazzurri last season, scoring four goals and picking up four assists in Serie A play while netting a goal in each the Europa League and the Italian Cup.

He has bounced between Inter and Dinamo Zagreb since 2015, finally settling at the San Siro for a €5 million transfer fee in 2016.

Reports suggest Inter is holding out for €20-€25 million for the midfielder, as Luciano Spalletti has agreed to selling him for the right price.

Despite that, Brozovic has signed a new contract with the club through 2021.

But, does the Merseyside club really need Brozovic? They have already picked up Dutch national midfielder Davy Klaaseen from AFC Ajax and he has the potential to do very well in England.

Brozovic would be a good addition for Everton, but it may be just wishful thinking to get €25 million for him.
