Is Di Maria to Inter Milan really a good move?

Several media outlets are linking Inter Milan to the likes of Angel Di Maria and Adrien Rabiot from Paris Saint-Germain.

Mediaset Premium, Sportitalia and Tuttosport are all suggesting the Nerazzurri are looking squarely at Di Maria.

And who wouldn’t?

The Argentinian international is a versatile forward who can play left, right or in the middle. He was born in Argentina, but for some reason he carries an Italian passport, meaning he could be on the roster without taking a non-EU slot.

Oh, and let’s not forget his 14 goals and 15 assists in 43 games for PSG this season.

The Italian media draws the links from suggestion that Inter sporting director Walter Sabatini will be in Paris this weekend to talk to PSG officials about Di Maria, the 22-year-old midfielder Rabiot and defender Marquinhos. Marquinhos has some history with Sabatini as one signed the other at Roma. The defender’s contract will expire in June 2019.

Let’s not kid around. Di Maria is extremely talented. But, one issue will be the price tag. Consider Manchester United paid Real Madrid €75 million two years ago. Paris Saint-Germain forked over €63 million for him last year. Inter would like to get him for around €50 million, but PSG hasn’t put a price on the striker.

I would love to see him in the black and blue next year just because I think he is a special player with loads of talent. He’s not likely all that happy languishing in Ligue 1 and could really thrive in Serie A.

A good move? I’d like to think so. A likely move? That’s another story.
