FC Barcelona and Inter Milan officials confirmed Monday that midfielder Rafinha has been loaned out to the Nerazzurri.

“FC Barcelona and FC Internazionale Milano have reached an agreement for the loan of the player Rafinha until June 30th 2018. FC Internazionale has an option to purchase the player for €35 million plus €3 million in variables, which must be confirmed before the end of the current season. FC Internazionale assumes the player’s salary.”

Rafinha has worked up through the Barcelona youth system – starting when he was 13. He debuted with Barca B in the 2010/11 season.

In his 79 matches played with Blaugrana, the 24-year-old Rafinha has been parts of teams that have won three Copas del Rey, two La Liga titles, a Champions League title, a Spanish Super Cup and a World Club Cup. Over that same time, he has scored 11 goals.

He was out since a knee injury he sustained in April in Barcelona’s 1-0 defeat to Espanyol in the Copa del Rey.

Esteban Cambiasso, former Inter midfielder, told Sky Sports Italia that Inter was “bring in a Barca reserve.”

“Therefore, an interesting player has arrived, but (Barca) have only given him to them because he’s not been playing. That’s the truth,” Cambiasso said.
