Despite no traction during the summer transfer window, talk about a potential scoop-up of Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar still manages to hit headlines.

Over the summer, Manchester United made overtures to lure Skriniar away for around €60 million, but Inter management didn’t bite, suggesting they would not entertain a conversation for his services for any less than €75 million.

Even as soon as today, rumors continue to suggest other teams are interested in Skriniar, who made a significant impact last season — his first with the Nerazzurri.

The latest suitor is supposedly Bayern Munich, who could be looking to spend upwards of €80 million to pick up Skriniar in the January window.

However, Skriniar told Calciomercato.com that is focus remains on playing for Inter Milan this season:

“I just read about these things, but I do not think about it. There were rumours during the summer but in the end, nothing happened and I do not think it is happening now,” Skriniar said. “We have a lot of matches with Inter. Right after the national team, there is an important challenge against Milan in the derby, we have to prepare well.”

He said looking past the Derby della Madonnina, Inter can compete with Serie A leaders Juventus, who are riding an unbeaten streak since the start of the season.

“Juventus are leading in Italy, but we can also play against them. We are where we wanted to be from the start of the season and we will try to continue like this with this series of results for as long as possible,” Skriniar said.

It seems as if Skriniar remains committed to Inter Milan this season and, hopefully, that commitment lasts beyond that.
