Italian media is reporting Inter Milan are inching ever closer to filling their right back slot.

Football Italia said the Nerazzurri are on the verge of closing a deal with Sime Vrsajlko after the player indicated his desire to come to the San Siro next season.

According to the reports, Inter is offering an €8 million transfer fee with a €17 million option to buy once the transfer is up at the end of the season.

Vrsaljko will return to Italy after his stint at Atletico Madrid. He joined Los Colchoneros in the summer of 2016. Prior to that, he played at Sassuolo.

Despite injuries, Vrsaljko was a key player in Croatia’s run to the World Cup finals and did start in Atletico Madrid’s Europa League final against Olymipque Marseille two months ago.

If the deal is done, he will reunite with fellow countrymen Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic — all three of which competed for Croatia during the World Cup.
