Lautaro Martinez
Lautaro opened the scoring in this one and got his first career Serie A goal. He was consistently making great passes and finding openings in the defense. He gave Cagliari all they could handle in the first half. Struggled to get going early in the second half but found himself again midway through the half. Martinez created a couple opportunities and almost got an assist in injury time on an awesome back heel pass.

Dalbert Henrique
We don’t see his name here often but I felt like Dalbert deserved to get some praise. He did not make many mistakes in this one and got the game winning assist on the Lautaro goal. Played many good crosses into the box and got rewarded with one of them. Hopefully he can start to find form just like the team has and earn his place in the XI consistently.

Matteo Politano
The winger played well all game. He gave the Nerazzurri the insurance goal they desperately needed in the 89th minute. It was a beautiful volley that took a slight deflection off a defenders arm, off the post and into the back of the net. His quick cuts opened up many crossing and shooting opportunities from the right side. He tested Alessio Cragno multiple times with his left footed shot early in the game. Overall, great game from Politano and it seems like he has really earned his place here.

Radja Nainggollan
The Belgian midfielder didn’t have the best game but he had his moments. Early in the second half he found Antonio Candreva streaking down the right side but the Italian couldn’t finish. He was able to make some key passes throughout the game and brought his physicality to it as well. The midfield felt his presence both offensively and defensively and was a key reason to Inter holding off Cagliari’s late push. One moment that really impressed me was when he back-tracked to catch out a Cagliari fast break and won the ball back.

Stefan De Vrij
The Inter defense earned a clean sheet and played well all game. They had a pretty quiet night overall. I gave the nod here to De Vrij as he created a couple chances off of corners and set pieces. He is awesome in the air and he shown it early in the season. He was so close to getting his second of the season but put the ball just over the bar.
My Man of the Match:
The team had a good performance before a midweek fixture. I said before the game how this might be a trap game but they came out and got the early lead and played confidently. My man of the match today has to go to Matteo Politano. I was going to give it to him or Lautaro but then Politano scored the goal, which put him over the top!
