Inter Milan has several called up for international duty

Eleven players to play for international squads during break.

As we enter the first international break, Inter Milan has a total of 11 players who have been called up for international duty.

In somewhat of a surprise, both Mauro Icardi and Lautaro Martinez have been called up to play for Argentina during the break. Both initially trained with Argentina prior to the World Cup, but neither made the final World Cup squad.

Here is a list of who has been called up:

  • Mauro Icardi: Argentina vs. Guatemala (Friendly, 06/09) and Argentina-Colombia (Friendly, 11/09);
  • Lautaro Martinez: Argentina vs. Guatemala (Friendly, 06/09) and Argentina vs. Colombia (Friendly, 11/09);
  • Ivan Perisic: Portugal vs. Croatia (Friendly, 06/09) and Spain vs. Croatia (UEFA Nations League, 11/09);
  • Marcelo Brozovic: Portugal vs. Croatia (Friendly, 06/09) and Spain vs. Croatia (UEFA Nations League, 11/09);
  • Sime Vrsaljko: Portugal vs. Croatia (Friendly, 06/09) and Spain vs. Croatia (UEFA Nations League, 11/09);
  • Kwadwo Asamoah: Kenya vs. Ghana (Africa Cup, 08/09);
  • Roberto Gagliardini: Italy-Poland (UEFA Nations League 07/09) and Portugal-Italy (UEFA Nations League, 10/09);
  • Stefan De Vrij: The Netherlands-Perù (Friendly, 06/09) and France vs. The Netherlands (UEFA Nations League, 09/09);
  • Keita Balde: Madagascar vs. Senegal (Africa Cup, 09/09);
  • Milan Skriniar: Slovakia-Denmark (Friendly, 05/09) and Ukraine vs. Slovakia (UEFA Nations League, 09/09);
  • Matias Vecino: Uruguay vs. Mexico (Friendly, 07/09).

Vecino played for Uruguay as they made their run to the World Cup and Perisic, Brozovic and Vrsaljko all played for Croatia as the team reached the finals of the World Cup, where they subsequently lost to France.
