Pie in the sky poll: Should Inter add a solo “A” player in January or a series of C’s?

Would you rather have Vidal, or a bunch of depth?

Let’s be honest, most polls on most blogs are used to generate clicks and get the comments section to go back and forth. So, let’s not hide that fact. We are all adults. So, in that vein, let’s start a new tradition: the pie in the sky poll.

With this, we do nothing but vote on something that is so unlikely to happen that we can just bask in its absurdity/unlikeliness/other-worldliness. Here we can have hypothetical discussions on team building and philosophies or what not, safe in the knowledge that neither party can ever be proven wrong – as is the case with most polls, really.

Squad depth has been the phrase of the year around these parts. Inter need reinforcements in January if they’re to maintain a title challenge. the question, though, is whether you would prefer a solo, marquee name, who might prove to be a match-winner and a body to add into the rotation, or a trio of lesser players, who can fill in here and there but aren’t necessarily better than the players who would start in a best XI.

Depth is a big issue. But with Barella and Sensi set to return to full fitness in the New Year, there’s an argument to be made that adding one “A” star — like Arturo Vidal — could be more impactful, particularly now that the team is out of the Champions League.

Inter have been linked to a whole host of players, and Suning has been keen to brief that there’s not a stack of cash to throw around in January. Loan deals for the likes of Marcos Alonso and Olivier Giroud seem more likely than big, permanent deals. But some money is there. How would you distribute it?
