The Far From Vesuvius writers graces us with a rundown on Wednesday’s opponents

Q: Victor Osimhen was signed for a club-record fee of €70 million in the summer. How has he fared in his first few months in Napoli colors? Does he look worth the price?

A: Osimhen is exactly the type of Striker Napoli has needed for a few years. He’s dynamic and has game breaking ability. He’s fared pretty well so far although he is battling a shoulder injury right now that will see him out through the Christmas break.

Q: One of the biggest stories of the Serie A season so far is the Juve/Napoli debacle. What’s your take on the situation? How do you expect Napoli’s continued appeal to turn out?

A: The Napoli/Juve thing is very complicated and political. It involves FIGC and local government and their inability to see eye to eye which made for a confusing situation. Napoli were on their team bus and local authorities told them not to leave. FIGC doesn’t see it that way. Napoli have one more appeal on the 22nd. I doubt it matters though. I just hope that point penalty doesn’t hurt us.

Q: What should Inter be afraid of from Gennaro Gattuso’s men? What are Napoli’s biggest strengths?

A: Napoli have shown during Gattuso that they can be a seriously dangerous team against the best in Italy. Napoli have the ability to beat any team in Serie A and Chucky Lozano has been Napoli’s best this season. The battle of him v Inter’s left side of defense is a matchup worth looking at.

Q: On the flip side, where do Napoli struggle?

A: Napoli have a tendency to be poor defending set pieces, and at times can leave gaps in the midfield.

Q: What’s your prediction and how do you see the match playing out Wednesday?

A: Us Neapolitans are very superstitious so I won’t make a prediction, but early in the season this is a huge matchup for both teams.

Again, a huge thanks to Ken for the responses!
