According to a report, Alexis Sanchez and Inter Milan staff are “increasingly distant”. The specifics around the report make it clear that Inter has moved to the point wherein the priority around Sanchez this summer is almost none.
The injuries and inconsistency that Sanchez has been providing Inter are putting any resemblance of a plan to permanently purchase him in doubt. This is simply a report. However, it doesn’t make a ton of sense for Inter to prioritize Sanchez in the offseason.
It seems doubtful that United are willing to sell Sanchez for a low price. Given the likely high transfer fee, and lack of production, Sanchez’s time at Inter Milan is likely waning.
The Sanchez-Inter relationship was something I was hopeful would work out. It seemed like time away from England and under a system like Antonio Conte’s would serve Sanchez well.
Perhaps there was never a real chance of this working out for the long term. The test drive of a loan seems to have given Inter all the intel they need. Unless something drastic changes in the next few months, a loan is likely all this relationship will be.
