According to a report from Transfermarkt, Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez is one of the ten most valuable strikers on the planet. The report specifies that the 22-year-old is the seventh most valuable striker at an €80 million value.
The top three are Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, and Antoine Griezmann. The specifics around Trasnfermarkt’s valuation of Martinez fall about €31 million short of his release clause.
That release clause has been the topic of conversation regarding Barcelona’s reported pursuit of the striker. The injuries to Luis Suarez and aging of Barcelona’s core have increased their urgency when it comes to finding a long-term replacement up top.
If Martinez and Alexis Sanchez leave this summer, Inter and Antonio Conte will have some work to do in the attacking department. It’ll be interesting if they trend towards a big name or multiple pieces to fill the attacking holes.
