Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Bayern Munich are unlikely to pick up the permanent option on Ivan Perisic. The change in mindset comes after Perisic fractured a bone in his right foot that seems to have been classified as a broken ankle.

Bayern have a buy option for €20 million to make the Perisic deal permanent. He moved to Bayern last summer and had appeared in 22 matches thus far, providing five goals and solid production for the price tag.

Given that Perisic is set to miss at least two months, it doesn’t seem all that likely that Bayern will be interested in extending things with Perisic. Although, if he makes solid progress in his rehabilitation, we could see him back in time for the stretch run and prove himself to Bayern before the option comes up.
