Inter Milan president Steven Zhang made sure to comfort everyone in an interview yesterday. Zhang made sure everyone knew that the Derby D’Italia would still be great despite being played behind closed doors.
“We will play and it is essential that it happens in the conditions of a safety plan. Health is the number one priority. I am convinced that even behind closed doors, it will be a great event.”
“It is a match that fascinates millions of fans and I look forward to Sunday’s match with confidence. I am sure that the team will give their best.”
Zhang | Gazzetta dello Sport
Zhang’s honestly over the past week has been somewhat refreshing. Despite the whole “keep business and football professional” corner, he’s given honest opinions. I find his perspective on one of Inter’s biggest matches of the season being played behind closed doors fascinating. Given that it’s an away fixture, it certainly benefits Inter that there won’t be any fans there. The quietness and calm nature around the match without fans will be a strange and eerie viewing experience.
