According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan are looking forward to this summer and moves for both Olivier Giroud and Jan Vertonghen. The report makes it clear that they’re currently working on a deal with Giroud, who’s contract ends this summer.
Giroud was in discussions with Inter in January but a deal never came to fruition. The move would provide Inter with an affordable alternative to Romelu Lukaku. It would also help given a Lautaro Martinez exit being up in the air.
The other player who could be on the move is Jan Vertonghen. The Tottenham defender is a free agent this summer and is keen on an Italian move. Roma, Napoli, and Inter are all reportedly of interest to Vertonghen.
In my humble, quarantined, opinion, a Vertonghen move would be stellar. Despite his age hampering a bit of his famed consistency, he’s still incredible and when you have a chance to sign someone like a Vertonghen you take it.
