Inter Milan’s relationship with Alexis Sanchez has been an interesting one. Before Covid-19 put the football world, and the rest of the world, on hold, there were reports that Inter wasn’t prioritizing making Sanchez’s stay at Inter permanent.

Now, there’s a report from Sky says that Inter are interested in extending the loan. The current deal is set to expire on June 30, and would see Sanchez head back to England. However, since the Serie A and Premier League campaigns are both extended due to Covid-19, Inter are interested in seeing the loan extended through the end of the season.

Piero Ausilio discussed Sanchez’s play and how important it is to have him the rest of the season with Sky Sports.

“We rely on Sanchez in these [next few] months, above all to be able to give a definitive evaluation of this player, who was injured and couldn’t play for a long time. Before this injury he was doing very well. I remember the matches against Barcelona and Sampdoria. That was the Sanchez of his best seasons, both with Udinese and with Arsenal.”

Hopefully the loan extension wouldn’t be all that painful to get done. A healthy and rested Sanchez would be a valuable addition.
