Inter Milan have re-signed Andrea Pinamonti from Genoa. The young striker had been on loan to the Gifroni in the past campaign before the Genoa side paid €19.5 to own his full rights. Just 17 days later, though, Inter have sent €20 million back across Italy to regain Pinamonti’s services. According to reports, he joins on a four year deal worth €2 million annually.

Pinamonti played a starting role in Genoa’s narrow escape from relegation last season, tallying 34 appearances, with 7 goals and 2 assists. Those aren’t stellar numbers, but the youngster still could be a good pickup for Antonio Conte. Pinamonti will slot into the depth chart as the 4th striker, behind Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez, and Alexis Sanchez. Sebastian Esposito seems to be heading on loan to Serie B side SPAL next season, along with Lorenzo Pirola.

All in all, I’m satisfied with this signing, especially considering Pinamonti’s net cost of just €0.5 million. He certainly won’t be near as effective as the likes of Edin Dzeko, but he won’t be as expensive either. Hopefully under the tutelage of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, Pinamonti will grow into his own as a player and be a solid depth piece for Conte to rely upon.

Welcome back Andrea! Forza Inter!
