Lautaro reportedly awaiting Inter to sort out financial issues to re-sign

According to a report from Calciomercato, Lautaro Martinez is waiting on Inter to figure out their financial issues before signing on the dotted line. The specifics around his new contract seem to be an extension to 2024 with a salary increase to €4.5 million after tax.

The Argentine has already seen his salary increase from €1 million when he first signed with Inter in 2018. The steep increase in salary is clearly justified with how Lautaro has progressed on the pitch.

There also hasn’t been any chatter about Lautaro and Barcelona heading into the summer. Part of that is due to Barcelona’s cash-strapped nature heading into the transfer window, but Lautaro may not exactly fit the needs that Barca have in the immediate future.

All that to say, let’s hope Inter get things sorted quickly because a chance to get any sort of extension with Lautaro should be capitalized upon.
