With the Serie A season in our review mirror, it’s now time for end-of-season awards. And as you would expect from a team that won the title by ten points, there are plenty of Nerazzurri players picking up silverware. Nicolo Barella took home midfielder of the season, edging out though Marcelo Brozovic, Rodrigo De Paul, and Franck Kessie. After an impressive debut campaign for Inter last year, Barella grew to new heights.

Best midfielder: Nicolò Barella!
All-round pressing, accurate passes and a perfect combination of quality and quantity: what a season! https://t.co/qj5S2ceIjE#SerieATIM #WeAreCalcio pic.twitter.com/UML2vOF8ZJ
The €50 million Inter shipped to Cagliari is quickly looking like a bargain price for one of Italy’s best midfielders. Barella was one of the Nerazzurri's most important players en route to the Scudetto and a key part of Serie A’s finest midfield. He played the most minutes of any outfielder and in 46 appearances, the 24-year-old had 3 goals and 10 assists. Most notably he found the top corner with a perfect volley against Cagliari and scored the second in Inter’s 2-0 over Juventus. Barella is set to be a vital part of both Inter and the Italian national team for years to come, and it’s a joy to see him in Nerazzurri colors week after week.
Congrats Nicolo!
