In the same season in which he won his first-ever major trophy, Romelu Lukaku picked up the biggest individual prize as well. The 28-year-old was named Serie A’s MVP in the end-of-season awards. He’s only the second non-Juve player to win it since 2012, alongside a certain Mauro Icardi.

Best overall: @RomeluLukaku9!
Athletic supremacy, excellent technique and a leader’s mindset. His numbers are just fantastic: 24 goals e 11 assists! https://t.co/31MnrlkNE5 #SerieATIM #WeAreCalcio pic.twitter.com/uczE4MXxeU
Lukaku was the kingpin of Inter’s Scudetto winning attack. His 24 goals and 11 assists were good enough for second in the league on both counts, while the Belgian led Serie A in goals + assists. It’s no surprise that almost 40% of Inter’s 89 goals came from either a Lukaku assist or finish. Lukaku has set Serie A on fire after two years on the peninsula and last season was his career-best by far. It’s only fair that he takes home the MVP prize.
Congrats Romelu!
