Romelu Lukaku Named in Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament

He may not have won any silverware but Lukaku still had a tournament to be very proud of

While Nicolo Barella and Alessandro Bastoni were the Inter representatives on the trophy podium, it was Romelu Lukaku that got Team of the Tournament honors from the Inter contingent at the Euros. Lukaku was Belgium’s star player and he guided his country to a quarter-final finish before the Red Devils fell to eventual champs Italy. Lukaku netted four goals and won Man of the Match against Russia and Denmark. He was only one goal short of tying Ronaldo and Patrik Shick in the Golden Boot race. While his country wasn’t entirely successful, Lukaku certainly had a tournament to be proud of.

Both Serie A and Italy dominated the list with five selections apiece. England (three) and the EPL (five) were the only ones to come close to rivaling the Italians. Alongside Lukaku, Gianluigi Donnarumma (albiet soon to sign with PSG), Leonardo Bonucci, Leonardo Spinazzola, and Federico Chiesa were the other representatives from the peninsula.

Congrats Romelu!
