According to a report from Calciomercato via SempreInter, Stefan de Vrij has let Inter Milan know that at season’s end he’ll explore offers from clubs outside of Italy. The Dutch defender’s contract ends in June 2023 and he isn’t keen on accepting a contract extension yet.
De Vrij has been at Inter since 2018 after being at Lazio for four years, so a move outside of Italy is understandable. The currently reported extension from Inter is a two-year deal that features a pay scale that's about what he’s currently earning.
If the 30-year-old doesn’t receive any offers he fancies in the season half of the season, a return is obviously possible. However, Inter’s backline next season is likely to look very different at this rate.
