It has been a rough few weeks for Inter, seemingly playing a match with massive season implications every three days, but the light at the end of the tunnel is close. Before the matches begin to back off, Inter will need to continue their good run of results against a notorious bogey team in Sassuolo to keep pace in Serie A.

Inter played well for much of the match against Liverpool, but fell just short as finishing eluded Simone Inzaghi’s side, who fell 2-0. In the league, Inter had to grind for a valuable point away at Napoli. A win over Sassuolo would put Inter back in a very strong position in the league as the Nerazzurri into a softer part of the domestic schedule.
Inzaghi will have some decisions to make, as both Alessandro Bastoni and Marcelo Brozovic will be suspended for this match. The two likely candidates to start in their places are Federico Dimarco and Roberto Gagliardini. Alexis Sanchez may also be handed a start for this one, after starting on the bench against Liverpool.

Sassuolo played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Jose Moruinho’s Roma, but lost defender Gian Marco Ferrari to a red card, meaning he will miss the match against Inter. Hamed Traore scored late in the second half Roma, continuing his hot run of form as of late.
Sassuolo boast a myriad of Inter-linked players. Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Sacamacca missed the Neroverdi’s last match through suspension and will be fully fresh to face their possible future club. Midfielder Davide Frattesi will also be on display for the club interested in his signature.

Prediction: Inter 2-1 Sassuolo
The previous two matches between these two teams have ended 2-1, but if Inter play like they did against Liverpool and find their finishing boots, this should be a win for the hosts. Ferrari will be a big miss for Sassuolo, who have not been the best defensive team this season. Alexis has had success against Sassuolo in his time at Inter, so expect him to score if he starts. However, Andrea Consigli and Domenico Berardi always show up at the Meazza when they play Inter, so things will definitely not be as straightforward as they could be.
Forza Inter!
