What a week to follow Inter. A stiff Champions League draw that includes Bayern Munich and an uninspiring defeat away to Lazio. All capped off by the news of a muscle injury for Romelu Lukaku. This week is a new week though, and Inter will have a chance to set things right against Cremonense on Tuesday before heading into a very important Milan Derby.

Taking blow after blow so early in the season. Inter never led in their 3-1 loss to Lazio. The defense looked shaky and the attack was paltry in the final third. The questions of the preseason manifested themselves in a gutless 90 minutes. The only positives were the goal from Lautaro Martinez and an assist from Denzel Dumfries, which still had to be manufactured from a set piece.
Inter need a strong response against Cremonese to avoid creating too much unnecessary early season pressure. However, those efforts will be hampered by Lukaku’s newfound thigh issues. With one injury, Inter are back to last season’s attack. An attack that made its shortcomings apparent over 2021-22.
Simone Inzaghi is avoiding inflating the pressure anymore at this point by not holding any press contacts before the match. He will have to drum up some positivity in his team, and may need to get creative to get the most out of them. Perhaps starting with introducing Andre Onana as the starter in goal.

Serie A newcomers Cremonese are winless in their first three top-flight matches since 1995-96. Losses to Fiorentina, Roma, and Torino have all been by just one goal. Cremonese and manager Massimiliano Alvini are tapped as one of the favorites to be relegated this season, but they have shown that they can test teams on any given day.
Cremonese will reunite Inter with a controversial character of sorts in Andrei Radu, who already has a keeping error to show at Cremonese against Fiorentina. With his poor historic form, it would be fitting for the Romanian to break out an all-time performance.

Prediction: Inter 2-1 Cremonese
Inter will not look the same without Lukaku in this match. Bringing back Calhanoglu will be huge for the midfield, which was lacking against Lazio. The Nerazurri will need Lautaro to step up when playing with Edin Dzeko, as the duo did not work at all last season. Inter should get the win, but it may be closer than we like.
Forza Inter!
