Inter’s 2-1 loss to Spezia on Friday was a blow to the top-four race for the Nerazzurri. If Roma and Milan win their match in hand, Inter will be in a three-way tie for second place wherein they’re only ahead on goal differential.

Simone Inzaghi commented on the loss after the match, saying the lads wouldn’t sleep tonight and taking responsibility for the L.

“In football, you get no discounts and we paid for those errors. It’s not right that Inter lose to Spezia. We won’t sleep tonight.

“I take responsibility for the defeat, but the lads gave their all tonight. We just weren’t clinical enough.

“This is football, defeats make you stronger. We had a few too many this season, especially away from home, and naturally the result is unsatisfactory.”

One of the biggest matches of the Inter season takes place this week. Inter travel to Portugal to take on Porto with a 1-0 aggregate lead in the Champions League. Given how up and down this Inter team have been this season, we’re due for an up performance, right?
