Inter’s busy summer transfer market continues with the arrival of Yann Aurel Bisseck from Danish club AGF. The 22-year-old, who inked a contract until 2028, provides some vital youth to Inter’s aging backline and if given proper time to adapt to Serie A, could become a defensive powerhouse in a season or two. Inter will be paying his €7 release clause for his services, but the payment will reportedly be spread out over 3 seasons.
Bisseck comes from two seasons in Denmark, where he totaled 62 appearances for AGF, which finished 8th and 4th in that timeframe. He originally debuted at Koln in the Bundesliga as a 16-year-old, becoming the youngest German to ever appear in the Bundesliga. Though he never broke through into the first team consistently at Koln, he’s had success in Denmark and was a starter for Germany at the U-21 Euros this summer. Bisseck is far from a finished product, but he’ll have the chance to learn from the likes of Francesco Acerbi and Matteo Darmian at Inter, so it’s only a matter of time before he turns his potential into something more potent. For now, he’ll be a solid rotation piece and a nice breath of fresh air and pace to Inter’s usually quite old defensive corps, plus he’s so cheap an eventual plusvalenza is almost a given. Considering Inter’s budget woes, this and the renewal of Stefan de Vrij are the perfect types of moves to round out the squad assuming a more established defender is also added to fill the gap left behind by Milan Skriniar. And who knows, perhaps given Bisseck’s clear talent and potential that gap won’t quite feel so big this season.
Welcome to Milano, Yann!
